We welcome your involvement in your local Estate Inspection.
Estate inspections are regular formal walkabouts of our streets and blocks, led by staff. We do this so that we can spot and sort problems at an early stage, and so that we can talk to you about your area. Read Steven’s success story below.

Steven’s Success Story
A community walkabout in North Prospect led to a positive outcome for residents. People in flats in North Prospect Road and Greatlands Crescent brought it to our attention that some recesses under their stairs were used as a dumping ground for bulky waste. Not only was this a nuisance for residents, it also cost us money to get the items removed.
Fiona Renfree, North Prospect housing officer, said: “As well as being picked up on community walkabouts, we’d receive regular calls from residents advising us of items that were dumped. After speaking with the residents, we agreed these areas could be used for proper storage.”
Resident Steven McDuff said: “There were some spaces which were recesses under the stairs. People would put chairs and mattresses in there.”
A Money Tree Fund application was submitted and approved to pay for lockable wire mesh doors. The work was carried out during the summer and each storage area is shared between four flats.
Mr McDuff added: “We can put our personal belongings in there. I’ve got my lawnmower in there and one of my neighbours has his watering can and gardening materials.”
“We have resolved the fly tipping problems and residents now have useful storage,” said Fiona.
