Are you a tree lover?

We’ve had to cut down trees to make way for the regeneration of North Prospect but we’re making sure we replace them.

We’re removing 80 trees across Phase 4 but will be replanting 160 in North Prospect and other areas of the city.

We’re holding an event on Thursday 24 October to talk through some of our ideas for the replacement trees – and find out what you’d like to see.

Kim Taylor, Environmental Services Manager, said: “We’ll be showing residents the areas where we’d like to plant and give tenants an opportunity to tell us which trees they’d like to see – we’ll have a list of appropriate trees.

“We’ll also be inviting residents to volunteer to look after the new trees and maybe even adopt a tree.”

It will be up to Plymouth City Council planners to determine exactly where and what type of trees we’ll be replanting but we’re still keen that the community has an input.

Contractor Kier will also be there and the Woodland Trust will be on hand to offer information and advice.

Tree felling has started in North Prospect and should be finished in December.

We'll be at the Beacon on Thursday between 11am and 3pm. For more information call Kim on 0808 230 6500.
