Coronavirus update - Friday 1 April 2022
Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the latest coronavirus update. We also have advice if you're concerned about energy prices.
Plumer House is now open and we are planning to reopen our Frankfort Gate shop on around April 12. We will keep you updated on this.
Additional booster shot for certain groups
Some vulnerable people are now being offered another booster jab. People aged 75 and over, and those with compromised immune systems are invited to book a fourth jab. You can book your booster by clicking here.
Covid-19 cases are heading in the right direction
Since our last update, a big spike in new cases has begun to level off and reduce slightly. However, case numbers are still very high in the city.
We can all do our bit to keep this number heading down.
Although the rules and restrictions have now been lifted, residents are urged to remain cautious and self-isolate if you test positive.
Home testing kits
From today (Friday 1 April) you will need to pay for lateral flow test (LFT) kits.
You can now buy LFTs from a number of high street stores. Lloyds Pharmacy is selling a pack of five tests for £9.29, and most supermarket pharmacies are also selling kits for a similar price.
Whether you wear a face covering or not is now a personal choice.
When visiting your home, PCH staff will continue to ask if you would prefer a mask to be worn.
