Coronavirus Update - Friday 7 January 2022

Happy New Year, from everyone at PCH!

Just before Christmas the Prime Minister announced that the government would not impose new restrictions before the new year. This is still the case as the governments’ Plan B measures are hoped to be enough to keep the NHS from being overwhelmed.
Work from home if you can
This measure is expected to last until at least 26 January but could be extended.
If you need to refresh your memory on what Plan B means for you, click here for the latest rules from the Government.
Most indoor spaces, such as shops, require a face covering to be worn. This does not apply to pubs, cafés or restaurants.
There have been some changes to the rules on how long to self-isolate and when to take a test. This could also change again in the coming weeks.
If you test positive, the NHS website will explain what to do next.
Remember, if you have any symptoms, you must still get tested.

Libraries across the city are now also dispensing testing kits. Click here to find your nearest library and its opening hours.
All adults are now eligible for a booster jab. Click here to book your booster jab.
If you haven’t been vaccinated at all, you can still find your nearest pop-up vaccination clinic by clicking here.
Keep a window slightly open
It’s very important to allow some ventilation while indoors to stop the spread of Covid-19.
New developments in how scientists understand the virus show that leaving a window slightly open, can make a big difference in reducing the spread. So, if you have people coming over, allowing some airflow can reduce your chances of catching coronavirus.
Even opening the windows for short periods of time will allow fresh air to circulate. If you let fresh air in when inside, you can reduce the risk of infection by 70 percent.
Apprenticeships open day
New year, new adventure: Are you interested in a career in construction? If the answer is "yes", you're welcome to attend the Greenlight Safety and Training on their Apprenticeship Open Day.
If you want to learn more about apprenticeships, you can pop along next Saturday 15 January from 10am – 1pm.
The open day will be held at Unit 9, Darklake Park, Estover, PL6 7FB.

Looking back at 2021
It was another strange year for us all. The pandemic threw up some new challenges, but we didn’t let that stop us at PCH from getting on with some great work.
