Coronavirus update - Thursday 31 December

Plymouth is now in Tier 3 as of midnight last night.

This means no mixing of households indoors, or most outdoor places, apart from support bubbles. A maximum of six people are allowed to meet in some outdoor public spaces (e.g. parks, public gardens).

Bars, pubs and restaurants are closed with the exception of sales by takeaway, drive through or delivery. Indoor entertainment venues will be closed but shops remain open.

The Tier 3 ruling also applies to the rest of Devon and all of Cornwall.

Primary schools will open as normal next week.

All pupils in exam years will return to school the week beginning 11 January, with all secondary and college pupils returning full-time on the 18 January.

During the first week of term after 4 January, secondary schools and colleges will prepare to test as many staff and students as possible and will only be open to vulnerable children and children of key workers.

In line with government guidance, our repairs service will continue as normal.

We’re sorry that some residents had trouble getting hold of us over the phone during the Christmas period.

We’re investigating what went wrong so we can ensure it doesn’t happen again.

We also experienced some technical issues with the MyPCH website but it is now working normally so you can use it to report repairs and check your account 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Our phone lines and services over the New Year’s Eve bank holiday weekend are as follows:

  • Thursday 31 December (New Year’s Eve): open as usual
  • Friday 1 January (New Year’s Day): emergency repairs only
  • Saturday 2 January: emergency repairs only
  • Sunday 3 January: emergency repairs only
  • Monday 4 January: normal services resume
