Is this Plymouth's most festive home?
Plymouth Community Homes tenant Lyn Tapscott spent four days putting this holiday display together in her home and admits it wouldn’t be Christmas without it.
It’s the third year running that the Ron King House resident has created the village display, which includes a working train, moving carousel and tiny figurine making snow angels. There’s even an adjoining ski slope.
Lyn has steadily built up her collection of ornaments so that her collection is bigger and better every year.
It sits proudly on some storage boxes measuring around 1.5m x 1m.
Lyn said: “People love it when they come round. I’ve got 15 grandchildren and I thought the youngest would touch it when she came round but she just stared at it in amazement.
“I’ve had to move the settees out of the way to get it all in. Next year I think I’ll do it in my window.
“I love doing it – it’s just a shame it’s all got to come down after Christmas.
“Last year they were selling lots of ornaments off cheap so I thought I’d buy them. They’ve got their own storage cupboard!
“I’ve always loved Christmas, ever since my kids were growing up.
“I’d like to see if I can do it in the communal lounge here next year. There’s lots of space in there so it would be stunning.”
Do you love Christmas as much as Lyn? Do you go to town on your decorations? If so, we’d love to see them – post your festive pictures to our Facebook page: facebook.com/PlymouthCommunityHomes.
