John Clark, CEO responds to Housing Green Paper
In response to the Government’s Housing Green Paper published on 14 August 2018, our CEO, John Clark had this to say:
“We are extremely pleased to see the issue of housing in the national spotlight and while welcoming yesterday’s Green Paper, recognise along with others that more needs to be done to deliver the genuinely affordable homes that are so desperately needed. As a responsible social landlord, we strive to listen to, and act on, the views of our residents but also recognise the need for us all to do this more effectively and consistently. Over 90% of our residents who were asked told us they were satisfied with the quality of their homes and with PCH as a landlord. We pride ourselves on our values which put people at the heart of everything we do and we will continue to provide our residents with decent affordable homes and high quality services.
“We also recognise the importance of building more social and affordable homes and are developing a proposal for a partnership between PCH and the Council which would deliver 1,500 new homes over the next five years in addition to completing the regeneration of North Prospect. We share the Council’s ambitions in its Plan for Homes and believe PCH is the best and most invested landlord to meet Plymouth’s future housing needs and ensure the people of Plymouth benefit directly from this through the creation of local training and employment opportunities.”
