North Prospect benefits from funding boost

Our regeneration of North Prospect has received a massive £2.8 million boost from the Housing Infrastucture Fund (HIF).

The HIF is distributed by the government to projects across the country to help pay for the infrastructure needed to support the building of new housing schemes.

Plymouth City Council had prioritised the North Prospect area in their funding bid, with the final phase of the project set to get underway later this year.

Nick Jackson, Director of Business Services and Development for PCH, said “It’s fantastic that we have received this funding. As well as the support from HIF it reflects the high priority given to Plymouth by our national partners at the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government and Homes England.

“The funding gives us a great opportunity to complete the regeneration of the area with the continued support of the council as our key partner.”

North Prospect has already seen more than 600 new homes completed alongside the Beacon which houses shops, a new library, a children’s centre and 39 flats for older residents.

With the first two phases of the project complete, the third on track for delivery and planning permission  for Phase 5 due soon, the development will now focus on planning the final phase of redevelopment in the area of Dingle Road, Laurel Road, Myrtleville, North Prospect Road and Rosedown Avenue.
