PCH donate old football kit to Kits 4 Causes

We’re donating our old football kit to a charity that helps some of the poorest communities in the world to be able to enjoy football as a vehicle for social change.

Kits 4 Causes is a charity based in the UK that collects unwanted football equipment and distributes it to social development programmes around the world. We’re lucky to be able to enjoy football as a pastime, but for many people living in poorer communities it offers hope and a chance for social change.

Senior Communications Officer Jay Vickers said: “We’ve had some football kit at PCH for a number of years which we’ve used in charity tournaments and to represent PCH at events such as Refugee Week.

“We wanted to donate the kits we had left over to a worthy cause, as it will give a team who cannot afford to buy a kit the chance to play football instead of getting left behind in a cupboard somewhere. This is especially important at this time of year as an old football shirt can become someone’s prized possession and can mean so much to a child in a developing country.”

Kits 4 Causes are one of the integral charities for an annual charity event that takes place each Christmas Eve at the Saltmill Park pitch in Saltash which sees two local teams battle it out for a trophy with all money raised being donated to various local charities. This year’s event takes place at midday on Christmas Eve.
