Planning permission granted for North Prospect Phase 5
We’ve been given planning consent to carry on with the next phase of the North Prospect regeneration.
Plymouth City Council has approved our application to build 143 1,2,3 and 4-bed homes in Phase 5.
These will consist of 110 houses and 33 flats. There will be 46 homes for affordable rent, 31 for shared ownership sale through SO Living and 66 for open market sale.
This stage of the regeneration has been made possible thanks to £3m grant funding from Homes England and £950,000 from the city council.
Bob Fish, PCH Development Manager, said: “We’re pleased to be given the green light to progress with the next stage of the regeneration, which will provide much-needed energy-efficient homes for people in North Prospect.
“We’re grateful for the funding support we’ve received from Homes England and PCC to carry out this next stage of the programme and we look forward to working in continued partnership with the city council on this scheme.”
We’re due to work alongside Kier Living on this phase and hope to begin building work later this year.
Kier is currently working on North Prospect Phase 3, also known as Southern Gate.
Councillor Patrick Nicholson, Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Strategic Transport, Housing and Planning, said: “The regeneration of North Prospect is such an important scheme and one that Plymouth City Council is still delighted to be involved with.
"We welcome this planning decision and are proud to support all of our partners in this, the fifth phase of the project.
"We have already seen families move into high-quality, eco-friendly homes produced by the previous stages and I look forward to seeing this phase build upon these foundations.
“Moreover, in support of what is one of the biggest estate regeneration projects in the South West, we have secured £2.8m for North Prospect from our recently successful Housing Infrastructure Fund Bid, that was nearly five times over-subscribed nationally.”
We received Housing Infrastructure Fund money for Phase 4, the final phase in the regeneration.
