Planning permission submitted for next phase of homes in regeneration area
We've submitted planning permission for 143 new homes in Phase 5 of the North Prospect regeneration.
We've applied to build a mix of one, two, three and four bed homes.
The phase includes 46 homes for affordable rent, 31 for shared ownership through SO Living and 66 for open market sale.
The phase was put on hold last year due to funding uncertainty but it’s back on track after our bid for £2.356m of funding from the Homes and Communities Agency was successful.
Plymouth City Council has also committed £950,000 from its Community Infrastructure Levy to support Phase 5.
Andrew Lawrie, Head of Development with PCH, said: “It’s great that we’re able to progress the next phase of our regeneration of North Prospect and – subject to planning consent – build much-needed homes for people in Plymouth.
“Thanks also to the city council for their support. This regeneration is a true example of partnership working.”
We held a series of consultation events days earlier this year to get public opinion on our plans for the phase.
Existing residents are expected to have moved out by March 2018 at the latest and we hope to begin demolition work soon after.
The scheme is due for completion by 2020.
