Primrose Park scoops top two awards at Constructing Excellence!
It was a highly successful evening for PCH on Friday as we won not only Project of the Year - we followed that up by scooping the Winner of Winners at this year’s Constructing Excellence Awards!
The awards evening, which was open to both public and private sector organisations and projects based in the region saw Primrose Park win the two prestigious awards in front of a host of industry leaders.
Primrose Park has 72 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership in Whitleigh, Plymouth and is one of the largest residential Passivhaus developments in the UK.
Andrew Lawrie, Head of Development at Plymouth Community Homes said: “It’s great news that this development has been recognised,” he explained. “PCH is committed to providing affordable homes for Plymouth and this is a great example of partnership working with the City Council who donated the land to ensure this Passivhaus project could be built.
“Properties built to this standard should provide residents with greater comfort and lower heating bills and we have commissioned a two year study to better understand the benefits.
“We’re happy to do our bit in tackling fuel poverty and we’re thankful to Mi-space for their commitment to build quality that ensured these properties were all certified as meeting the exacting Passivhaus standard.”
Ian Farrell, Divisional Director for Mi-space, which is part of the Midas Group, said: “We are thrilled that this pioneering Passivhaus scheme has been recognised with these two prestigious awards. We were proud to work alongside PCH and Plymouth City Council to create these innovative homes, which will have a long term positive impact on the lives of those in this thriving new neighbourhood.”
Elsewhere Contractor, Midas Group also had a successful evening, winning the H&S Award and being Highly Commended for People Development.
SPSenvirowall, which worked on our Brentor View scheme in Southway, was up for the Integration and Collaborative Working Award.
