Redevelopment captured on camera

Work is progressing well on our regeneration of Phase 5 at North Prospect – as this time lapse footage shows.

The video shows the development of our over 55s apartment block over the past few months.

The block, at the junction of Foliot Road and Cookworthy Road, will have 33 flats for social rent.

Phase 5, also known as Briarwood, will have 143 homes between Briardale and Cookworthy Road and is due to complete next Spring.

There will be 77 homes for affordable housing and shared ownership through SO Living and 66 for open market sale by Kier Living, our contractor on this phase.

Kier Living has so far handed over seven homes for affordable rent and 16 for shared ownership and the SO Living sales team has carried out 11 completions.

Nicola Daniel, PCH Project Manager at Phase 5, said: “The scheme is progressing well despite some challenging Covid restrictions. The properties being handed over are of an excellent standard, and Kier Living has won a Seal of Excellence award under the NHBC Pride in the Job award scheme.”

Phase 4 (Mayflower Leat) is also progressing well, despite Covid presenting us with some difficulties in sourcing materials.

Mayflower Leat, being built by Vistry Partnerships Ltd, will feature 196 homes. Plymouth City Council has recently paid a large part of its allocated £1million funding support towards public infrastructure expenditure in this last phase of the regeneration.

This is in addition to previous funding support from the city council as well as funding from Homes England and PCH’s own contributions.
