Residents and staff celebrate Lilly's 103rd birthday
Belmont Court resident Lilly Gray celebrated her 103rd birthday this week, as fellow residents and staff joined her for the special day.
Lilly and residents of Belmont Court held a buffet in the communal room to celebrate and everyone had a slice of birthday cake, whilst staff presented Lilly with a bouquet of flowers.
Lilly, who has lived in Belmont Court for the past five years puts her 103 years down to being a practicing Christian and not drinking alcohol.
Born in Plymouth, Lilly has always been involved with the local church and enjoys spending time knitting and completing crosswords, which she says helps keep her young.
She said: “I’ve had a lovely day with everyone, they’ve all been so kind, the cake was delicious.”
Lilly will spend the rest of her birthday celebrations seeing visiting family which includes, eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Everyone at Plymouth Community Homes would like to wish Lilly a very happy birthday!
