Seasonal soup at tea and toast group

Hearty pumpkin and tomato soups were also on the menu for members of the Tea and Toast group at Whitleigh Four Greens community centre this week.

The group, which meets every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm, made the soups from scratch.

Many PCH residents attend the sessions, including Whitleigh tenant Kevin Jackson. He said: “Coming to this group is a good way of meeting people and getting people out of their homes. A lot of people suffer from anxiety and groups like this help.”

The group carries out a different activity every week – they recently made their Christmas cake and also do craft making.

They also take part in Timebank activities – among the tasks members have done include painting, decorating and gardening. They do an hour of work and then receive an hour in exchange.

There are always lots of activities going on at Four Greens, including various exercise classes, help getting online and debt clinics. To find out more, call 01752 875916.
