Simply Turkish delights locals
In Greenbank, on the corner of Armada Street and Plym Street sits a middle eastern gem offering traditional Turkish and British food at discounted prices.
Simply Turkish owner Jane Stapleton has been running her café for just over a year and, like a lot of other businesses has found things difficult during Covid. But now with the restrictions in England set to be lifted in the next few weeks, Jane is keen to attract the punters back in.
Jane lived in Turkey for a number of years and wanted to bring that authentic Turkish cuisine to the city.
Jane said: “I love that we have a chance to show people some of the great food we have on offer, now that the restrictions are lifting and students will be able to go back to university lectures we’re expecting to see a lot more faces walking past this summer.
“We wanted to create something that not only offered something different with our Turkish menu, but also wanted to give back to those who have helped us so much over the past 16 months so we are offering 10% discount to carers, NHS staff, teachers, armed forces personnel and ex-forces, as well as the local students in the area.
“We are not just a sandwich shop either, we have a whole range of little treasures you can buy in the windows, so you might just pop in for a coffee and find a nice gift for someone – so we’re a little bit of everything really. And one thing you can be guaranteed is that you’ll be welcomed with a smile!”
