Sword award shows safety is our top priority

We’ve won another prestigious Sword of Honour from the British Safety Council.

We were one of 57 organisations worldwide that achieved the accolade, which is awarded to companies which have shown excellence in the way they manage health and safety risks at work.

In order to compete for the award, we had to achieve the maximum five stars in the British Safety Council’s health and safety management audit scheme.

We also had to show to an independent panel of experts that we’re excellent in our health and safety management throughout the business – from the ‘shopfloor’ to the boardroom.

Mark Henderson, PCH Head of Property and Safety, said: “Making sure our staff, contractors and visitors are safe in our premises is something we take extremely seriously every single day so it’s good that it’s been recognised by the British Safety Council.”

Staff from our Property and Safety team, including Health and Safety Officer Keith Harris (pictured left), attended the prizegiving ceremony last week to collect the award.
