Vote for which nominee you would like to see win the PCH People’s Choice Award at our Resident Awards ceremony this September. Voting closes on Friday 31 August.
Emma Higgs –
Emma started the North Prospect Community Choir. Her passion and drive made the choir an important part of the community. The summer concert was a huge success and those taking part clearly enjoyed putting on a performance for their community and they include the children of Mayflower Academy in their choir.
Mike Metters –
Mike works tirelessly for residents in the Barbican area to improve their communal areas. He has planted flowers in the communal areas, and weeded them as well as buying plants for the flowerbeds. Last year he secured funding form PCC and PCH to provide a barbeque area and benches for the residents to enjoy. He sometimes shops for other residents and visits residents for a coffee and a chat if they live alone. He is Chair of the Residents Association.
John and Margaret Springett
This husband and wife team were nominated for their hard work organising movie and music afternoons for residents at Leypark Court. The movie afternoons have been running for several years with John and Margaret arranging voting slips offering their neighbours a choice of what to watch and have gathered quite a library of resources. This has brought together different audiences and has proved invaluable for some residents with mobility or health difficulties who are able to be involved in activities without the stress of leaving the scheme. They also arrange for refreshments for those in attendance and one of their most popular events involved residents singing along to Andre Rieu!
