We score a health and safety hat trick
At a time when staying safe is more important than ever, it’s great to report that we’ve won three awards for the way we manage health and safety.
We’ve received three International Safety Awards from the British Safety Council for the way we protect our employees from the risk of injury and ill health at work.
What’s more, we won the coveted Distinction award in each category – one of just 87 organisations around the world to do so.
Our three awards include an overall one for PCH, one for Repairs and Regeneration and one for PCH Manufacturing.
John Clark, Chief Executive of Plymouth Community Homes, said: “To receive one of these prestigious awards is great news but to win three is brilliant. And for those three to all be in the Distinction category is even better.
“The last few weeks have shown that as an organisation we take health and safety seriously. During the government’s lockdown, our teams have been following strict social distancing guidance and safety rules when visiting properties to protect themselves and residents.
“The submissions for these awards are put together by the Property and Safety team but the success is a result of everyone in the organisation implementing health and safety practices everyday.”
The International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world which have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year. They also acknowledge companies that have shown commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.
We’ve also won two RoSPA Gold awards – for PCH overall and Repairs and Regeneration.
