Plymouth Community Homes has appointed Amy's Homechoice, a small local company based in Union Street as our preferred supplier for ‘good as new’ white goods.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, our new partnership with Amy's Homechoice will allow us to consider second hand goods for those experiencing hardship when purchasing items through our social value fund, that can be delivered and installed in the homes of our residents all with great customer service.

Amy's Homechoice offer new and used white goods as well as other furniture and appliances including kitchen appliances, bed frames, mattresses and more. They also price match branded new items to high street retailers. Their second-hand cookers come with a six-month parts and labour warranty and washing machines come with a three-month part and labour warranty. They also offer free delivery on all items, as well as multi-item discounts.

To coincide with our new partnership, Amy's Homechoice are also offering a 10% discount to all PCH residents if you quote Plymouth Community Homes.

Stephanie Watson, Procurement Coordinator at PCH, said: “We are delighted to appoint Amy's Homechoice as our preferred supplier for ‘good as new’ white goods at PCH, which supports our commitment to support local businesses, all while benefitting our residents.

“The owner and manager has a real interest in doing the right thing for the community and it’s great to see how many individuals and families they have supported since it all started seven years ago.

“We hope that our residents will consider Amy's Homechoice as an option when they are looking to purchase their white goods or other furniture, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them through our social value fund.”

Jason Hobbs, Manager at Amy's Homechoice, said: “For us it’s all about looking after the community and since we opened our doors seven years ago it has been a privilege to support so many people across our city.

“When we opened Amy's Homechoice, I had three adult children who were all unemployed and being able to employ them has given them experience about how life can be and skills in customer service which will stay with them for life.

“We’ve seen so much hardship, and its important for us to help people out as much as we can. The gratitude we receive from the people we support is so heartwarming, and it honestly keeps us going every day.

“We also offer house clearances, and if we find any items that can be upcycled and we PAT test them and offer them to individuals for free, where we can.

“We’re here at 101 Union Street so please do come by and find out how we can help you and don’t forget we offer 10% off to all PCH residents.”
