Staff, contractors, friends and family turned out in force on Saturday for the Annual PCH Charity Cup Tournament raising an incredible £3,819.98 for our Charity of the Year, Andy’s Man Club.
Held at Harpers Football Centre, the tournament saw 12 teams who pulled on their boots to get involved. While players were cheered on by those who came to support, many colleagues also helped raise additional funds by selling tickets for a hugely popular and successful raffle throughout the day.
The event supports Andy’s Man Club, a men’s suicide prevention charity working to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health through peer-to-peer support groups across the UK.
The 12 teams taking part in this year’s competition were:
- Dodgy Knees FinTech+
- Dodgy Knees Tech+

- Team St Luke’s
- Hallwell Projects
- DTFC (Darryl Tapper FC)

Rebecca Hocking, Communications Officer & Charity Steering Group lead at PCH, said: “I would like to once again thank everyone who contributed to our annual charity cup tournament this year. As ever, the event was a huge success which wouldn’t have been possible without the generous contributions of our colleagues & steering group members, contractors as well as friends and family. We are delighted with the final total which we know will be gratefully received by Andy’s Man Club.
"We are excited to continue our fundraising for Andy’s Man Club throughout the year and raise even more money to help them continue their fantastic work in Plymouth and across the UK.”
Darryl Tapper, Water Hygiene Compliance Supervisor and Charity Steering Group Member, added: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in this year’s charity cup tournament from our Executive Management team to our volunteer charity steering group and internal and external teams who took part. We really appreciate everyone who gave up their Saturday to pitch in and help us raise as much money as possible for Andy’s Man Club.
“There are many other people who I would like to thank, who I’m sure will be thanked elsewhere in this story, but I want to give a final thanks to everyone who came to support us on the day. It was once again a brilliant turnout, with new and old faces, and again to no surprise it was the biggest and best event to date, with the most teams. Each year it just gets bigger and better, and I’m keen to continue this tradition for many more years.”
