We are delighted to share that Nicky Kingston, Head of Rent, Homeownership and Lettings at Plymouth Community Homes, has been named as one of the winners in the Inside Housing Management 30 (IHM30) list for 2026.

The awards, announced on 25 June, recognise 30 of the most outstanding professionals working in housing management across the UK. With hundreds of entries received each year, being selected is a significant achievement and reflects the impact of Nicky’s work both locally and nationally.

Nicky has been with Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) since its formation in 2009 and brings more than 40 years of experience in the housing sector. In her role, she plays a vital part in helping residents access and sustain affordable homes.

Under her leadership, PCH has consistently maintained low levels of rent arrears, well below the sector average. This is notable given the financial pressures facing the sector in recent years, including the cost-of-living crisis and ongoing welfare reform.

Nicky’s approach is grounded in prevention, early intervention and compassion. Throughout her career, she has led and championed initiatives such as the Financial Hardship Fund, which provides essential support to residents experiencing financial difficulties.

Alongside her work at PCH, Nicky is recognised for her expertise in welfare reform. She has contributed evidence to a Select Committee on Universal Credit and worked with government ministers to highlight issues affecting tenants, helping to influence change beyond PCH and the South West.

Nicky (Head of Rent, Homeownership and Lettings) said:

“It was a total surprise to be told that I had been nominated and selected as one of the winners of the Inside Housing Management 30 Awards. I would like to dedicate this award to my team for their hard work, teamwork, and dedication to supporting our residents.”

This recognition highlights Nicky’s long-standing commitment to supporting residents and strengthening housing services, making her a highly deserving recipient of this national award.
