Plymouth Community Homes secures 54 affordable homes in Saltash

03 December 25

Treledan Bloor Homes PCH

Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) will be delivering more affordable homes in Cornwall after securing 54 homes at Treledan in Saltash, built by Bloor Homes.

The 54 new homes, consisting of one-, two-, three- and four- bedrooms and two rented bungalows are located within in the second phase of Treledan, which are the first homes built by Bloor Homes in Cornwall.

Of the 54 homes, 34 will be offered for affordable rent and 20 homes will be made available for shared ownership purchase through our sales brand SO Living.

The homes will be prioritised to those with a local connection to the area to meet the specific needs of the community, which has been made possible thanks to the support from key partner, Cornwall Council.

The development is located with quick access to Saltash and is close to a number of primary and secondary schools, shops and has good access to transport links.

PCH previously worked with Bloor Homes on the Filham Chase development in Ivybridge, delivering a total of 39 affordable homes across phase one and two, including 16 homes for rent and 23 for shared ownership.

Claire Baldry, Senior Project Manager at Plymouth Community Homes, said: “Plymouth Community Homes is delighted to be working with Bloor Homes once again to deliver much-needed new homes in the thriving town of Saltash. This marks our second project with Bloor Homes, and we are confident that the high-quality homes being built will be a valuable addition to our housing stock and will be highly desirable to our residents.

“Saltash is a beautiful and bustling town, and we are very proud to be part of this exciting development, helping to meet local housing needs and strengthening the local community.”

Ken Allen, Group Director of Partnership Housing at Bloor Homes, said: “It is great to be working again with Plymouth Community Homes, this time on our Treledan development at Saltash. This marks Bloor Homes first development site in Cornwall, delivering much needed housing across all tenures and furthering our commitment to increase the development of quality housing in the South West.

“Our first phase of Treledan will develop 326 much needed 2, 3 and 4 bedroom new homes over the next few years.

“We are delighted Plymouth Community Homes will be partnering with us to acquire the initial 54 affordable homes, being developed for affordable rent and shared ownership sale and targeted specifically to assist local people to meet their housing need”.

Peter La Broy, Cornwall Council cabinet member for housing, said: “These homes are very much welcomed - there are currently more than 500 households on the council’s social housing register with a local connection to Saltash.

“We’re supporting social housing providers to build more affordable homes in the areas where they are most needed and the development at Treledan is a great example of how our partnership working is making a difference for our residents.”

The first homes which are to be offered for rent or shared ownership sale through PCH will be available from Winter 2025.

All available homes to rent in Cornwall are advertised on Cornwall Homechoice, a partnership of local social landlords. To bid for a property or to be considered for a tenancy, registration will need to be completed using their online application form.
