STAIRs is a new regulatory standard designed to make it easier for residents living in social housing to access information about the management and services of their housing provider.
The aim of STAIRs is to improve transparency between residents and social housing providers by making this key information more accessible. The publication scheme is the first part of this regulatory standard and requires housing providers to publish certain information by 1st October 2026. This includes details about how we are run, how we spend money, how our homes are managed and how we are performing.
Much of the information required under STAIRs is already available on our website. To make it easier to find, we’ve brought it together in one place on our dedicated STAIRs webpage.
Here you can find information about:
- Who we are and what we do
- Our spending
- How we manage our homes
- How we’re performing
- The services and support we offer for residents
- Safety and compliance records
- Our policies
We’re committed to being open and transparent about how we work, the decisions we make and the services we provide. The introduction of STAIRs is an important step in making information more accessible and helping residents stay informed.
From April 2027, tenants (including shared owners who own less than 100% equity in their property) and their nominated representatives will have the right to request information under STAIRs. We’ll provide details on the request process before the rights come into effect.
To learn more, residents can visit our STAIRs webpage and read our Resident’s Guide to STAIRs. If you require support accessing or understanding the information published in this publication scheme, if you have any suggestions, feedback or complaints or want to speak to a member of the team to find out more, please contact us at governance@plymouthcommunityhomes.co.uk.
