Help and advice

Your tenancy

We're here to support you throughout your tenancy with us

From the moment you sign your tenancy agreement through to when it ends and you move out, our housing team can help you.

Your tenancy agreement sets out your rights and responsibilities as a tenant, as well as our legal rights as your landlord.

This includes paying your rent and other charges on time, allowing us access to your home for repairs and safety checks and ensuring that you respect other people in your neighbourhood.

Our service standards also set out what level of service you can expect from us throughout your tenancy.

If something changes in your household which could affect your tenancy, it's your responsibility to let us know. This includes adding or removing people from your household due to birth, death or marriage, as well as household members moving in or out of the home.

You also need to ensure that we have the most up-to-date contact details for you.

You can check and manage these details online through your MyPCH account.

We understand that pet ownership is a rewarding and fulfilling experience and can have a positive impact on your general health and wellbeing.

We have clear guidance about owning a pet as well as information on how to apply for consent.

Tenancy fraud happens when someone lives illegally lives in a rented home that wasn’t allocated to them.

There are different types of tenancy fraud, including providing false information, withholding information or making unlawful payments in relation to a Devon Home Choice application homeless application, subletting, Right to Buy, mutual exchange, succession and assignment.

Our Housing Management team works closely with external agencies and partners to detect and prevent tenancy fraud and where we have received a report or suspect tenancy fraud, we will investigate this.

We also hold a fraud surgery every six weeks with Plymouth City Council and other local authorities to discuss ongoing cases of tenancy fraud.

If you suspect tenancy fraud, please report this directly to us at fraud@plymouthcommunityhomes.co.uk.

Follow our guidance on ending your tenancy and moving out including how to give notice and what you need to do before you leave your PCH home.
