On Saturday 11 October, Jonathan Cowie, CEO at Plymouth Community Homes (PCH), frontline employees and residents attended the Plymouth Community Awards, in association with YMCA Plymouth and Discovery College.
The Plymouth Community Awards celebrate the achievements of people in our community who inspire through their feats against adversity and their tireless dedication to creating change.
PCH was a proud sponsor of the 'Best Community Project Award' to recognise projects that have made a significant and positive impact on a community. This award celebrates initiatives that demonstrate excellence in addressing community needs, fostering community spirit, and achieving measurable outcomes that improve the quality of life for community members.
As a sponsor of the award, PCH were required to select the worthy winner, so we asked a number of employees and residents to volunteer to judge the award, shortlisting three finalists and a winner. With so many incredible nominations, choosing just one winner was no easy task.
The three following organisations were shortlisted during a session in September:
In recognition of their dedication to this process, the three residents and six members of staff from across the organisation were invited to attend the awards to celebrate the people of Plymouth in style.
We're delighted to announce that Southway Community Group CIC were selected as the Best Community Project Award winner, and they were presented their award on the stage by Jonathan Cowie.
